For a long time, many people have been asking me for data and have commented on the now called Teatro Municipal de la Torre. That is why, and because today it belongs to the Pinamarense community, I share some details, details and anecdotes of its origin that very few know.
It was in the year 1996, July, that we were commissioned (Architect Alicia Alvarez Iturregui, with the collaboration of Lito Melfi, architect and theaterist) the project and the direction of that work that, incidentally, was built in only 4 months And a half ... and that's why there are details that make us affirm that it is an unfinished work.
However, much was reflected in it. To such an extent that renowned artists who have passed through that room celebrate their acoustics, the visuals that they propose and the communication that they favor with the public.

That year '96 had an event that we capitalized on: the famous Globe Theater was put in value, in Stratford-upon-Avon, where William Shakespeare premiered his plays.
Originally that was a space circumscribed by buildings of domestic architecture, where a stage presided over a space rescued from the street. The theater was composed of the brilliant author's work, in communication with the people, within the framework of an urban context that housed them.
That instance was the one that inspired us for the development of the project. Hence the sidewalk, which widens and meandering takes us to the entrance of the room ... Or to the cultural center ... Or to the offices of the current Directorate of Culture of Pinamar.
The tower that gives it its name, and today houses the box office, is supported by two medieval-inspired carvings made in a single piece of hardwood by the Madarian sculptor 'Pitica' Urrutia. They are two characters, a tanker and an actor with his libretto in his hand, who were entrusted to 'monitor' access to the theater and protect from the top the secrets that every theater that boasts of being should hold.
There is much more to tell… I will do it in next installments.
